Makers - DIY.
The Maker mentality is on the rise. People are coming together to create and build a whole variety of things from jewelry, games even robots and the tools and technology to help us realise our dream projects are all around us. Unique in the area, we have various facilities and workshop space for the DIY enthusiast including a 3D printer, CNC engraving machine, hand tools, sewing & textiles, craft tools.
Science & Technology (STEM) Education.
As part of our drive to improve learning and aspirations within Cheshire we are engaged in delivering STEAM based workshops (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) to Schools and Colleges across the locality. We are interested in hearing from any Schools in the area who may be interested in our funded workshops.
Some of our team are skilled in traditional crafts such as ropemaking & knot tying, batik, sewing and textiles. It's amazing how many skills there are around the area. If you want to bring your skills along or learn something new then call in and have a chat.
We have a keen interest in the Heritage of Winsford and the surrounding areas. We regularly receive visits from locals with fascinating tales and anecdotes. In addition we have a large collection of photos of old Winsford and are building up a library of historical information. If you would like to find out more then why not contact Anne or Derek.
We have been attending events in the locality throughout the summer ranging from Paddle Boat racing at the Salt Fair, Demonstrations for British Library week, Crafts and giant fish making at youth centres and creating amazing work for the Winsford wellbeing week.
